You're looking at a horn-shaped charm made of coral. Coral is formed from
the hard skeletons of small marine creatures that live in colonies.
Some think that coral has protective qualities. For this reason, coral
has been used in things that babies touch, including rattles and teething
rings.
We believe this piece is circa 1890. This charm was initially worn on
a watch chain, rather than on a bracelet.
